The American Trucking Assns. Friday announced that it has opened the selection process for members of its 2000 America's Road Team.
The team will be made up of 12 professional truck drivers with outstanding safety records and a commitment to educating the public about highway safety and the positive aspects of the trucking industry. Road Team members travel across the country talking to driver education classes, schools, churches, safety organizations, the media and government officials.
Candidates for the 2000 Road Team must be full-time truck drivers, either as company drivers or as owner-operators. Application forms are available by contacting America's Road Team, 2200 Mill Road, Alexandria, VA, 22314, or by faxing (703) 684-5718. A copy of the form is also available at ATA's web site at http://www.truckline.com. The deadline for submitting completed applications is September 15.
