An ATA sponsored Intermodal Motor Carriers Conference was established

during ATA’s Management Conference and Exhibition in Las Vegas, Nev.
The IMCC, as it will be known, elected John Drewes President and CEO of Sacramento, CA-based Devine Intermodal as its Chairman. Dave Manning of Tennessee Express was elected First Vice-Chairman and Phil Byrd of Bulldog Hiway Express was elected Second Vice-Chairman.
“Our new conference provides a greater voice for a large and growing sector of the industry before federal, state and local governments, with private entities and within ATA,” Drewes said. “The time is ripe to promote the interests of intermodal motor carriers on legislative and regulatory issues at all levels of government and to aggressively advance operational safety and security,” he said.
ATA President and CEO Bill Graves welcomed the conference into the ATA family noting that the IMCC would be “an effective agent in advancing issues of greatest importance to this critical segment of the industry.” Intermodal service is among the fastest growing sectors in the transportation industry.
