ArvinMeritor to Invest in Brazil
Following the announcement that it will shed its wheels business, ArvinMeritor has announced plans to invest up to $10 million for its commercial vehicle business in Brazil

The move is an effort to expand into new product segments and new manufacturing technology such as advanced gear-making.
In South America, the company's production is up 9 percent quarter-over-quarter. The company attributes this success to its South American management team, which includes Antonio Rossi, director of axle operations; Silvio Barros, director of sales and marketing; Angelo Morino, director of aftermarket; Jose Fernandes, director of procurement; and Adalberto Momi, director of finance.
"Our growth strategy involves bringing new products and technology to South America," said Chip McClure, chairman, CEO and president. "With the right products and a dedicated and talented workforce, ArvinMeritor will continue to be a strong commercial vehicle supplier in Brazil and across the continent."
ArvinMeritor announced last week that it will sell its entire wheels unit to Iochpe-Maxion, S.A., a Brazilian producer of wheels and frames for commercial vehicles.
