Anderson Trucking Service, St. Cloud, Minn., has expanded its capabilities with a Dual Lane Trailer designed for loads ranging from 200,000 to 360,000 pounds.

When fully expanded, the trailer will span two lanes of roadway and measure more than 210 feet in length. The trailer configuration will allow ATS to meet bridge and engineering standards for an increased permitted vehicle capacity.

“This new trailer will provide exciting new opportunities for the company within many market segments, but especially within the energy industry,” said Rollie Anderson, CEO of ATS.

The TK360 trailer is designed and built by Trail King and has multiple deck lengths and axles that allow it to expand from 14 feet wide to 20 feet wide.

"This new asset will take the ATS Heavy Haul capacity to the next level,” said Brent Anderson, COO at ATS. “Hauling loads up to 360,000 pounds means that we will be permitting this equipment for up to 700,000 pounds."

All dual lane roads require up front planning beyond that of a typical oversized or overweight transport. The trailer will travel with a team of at least six people including a supervisor, escorts and two drivers – one for the pulling truck in front and one for the push truck behind which is necessary for the weight of the cargo.

ATS is the largest truckload carrier in Minnesota, operating over 2,400 tractors and 8,600 trailers. Operating revenue for 2014 saw 16.6% growth over 2013.
