This 18th annual product release includes an expanded database and a number of improvements, including:
-- Truck-specific street-level Canadian routing, mileage and mapping.
-- 2004 U.S. ZIP Codes and Canadian Postal Codes.
-- State weigh stations as routing points to plan stops more effectively.
-- Updated nationwide hazmat and 53’/102” trailer routing restrictions.
-- Updated North American database including road openings, name changes and construction updates.
-- Enhanced Performance of route generation and mapping capabilities.
The PC*MILER 18 North American highway database includes 738,000 miles of truck-specific roadway, incorporating 390,000 miles of commercial truck restrictions covering 13'6" height, 80,000-lb weight, and 48’ length restrictions in the U.S. and Canadian highway network, and US federal, state and local hazardous materials restrictions and designations.
Also included are updated highway exit numbers, more than 300,000 accessible locations, 6,300 updated truck stops, 560 state weigh stations, 1,651 CAT Weigh Scale Stations and all U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) military installations.
Additionally, the advanced software includes all 2004 US ZIP Codes, 778,750 Canadian Postal Codes, and more than 112,700 Standard Point Location Codes.
PC*MILER|Streets 18 provides truck-specific dock-to-dock driving directions, distances and maps with 139 million U.S. and 30 million Canadian street addresses, more than 7 million street-level miles and 2.8 million place names and points of interest.
ALK also released PC*MILER|Basic for freight brokers and forwarders, and smaller shippers and logistics companies. The simplified version of PC*MILER generates point-to-point distances with leg and cumulative summaries for any origin/destination pair with an unlimited number of intermediate stop-off points.
