Mapping and routing developer ALK Technologies, Princeton, N.J., has teamed with fuel tax service provider Inter-Tax Inc., to deliver a series of products and services.

The ALK-Inter-Tax agreement covers Inter-Tax products that use ALK's PC*MILER as their mileage calculation engine. Inter-Tax Full Service, for example, is a fuel tax reporting service that includes preparation of fuel and mileage tax returns, as well as access to management reports on mileage and fuel data.
The ALK- Inter-Tax agreement includes a new product called "ITI Advantage -PC*MILER Driven." ITI Advantage is a fuel tax service delivered over the Internet for fleets of 20 to 150 tractors equipped with mobile communication systems. The software platform uses the customer's GPS/satellite data and electronic fuel information to streamline fuel and mileage tax reporting.
Under the agreement, Inter-Tax will become a sales agent for ALK's PC*MILER/FuelTax software product for companies that do not have mobile communications capability. PC*MILER/FuelTax is a fuel and mileage tax reporting software with tax forms and rates for all jurisdictions. PC*MILER/FuelTax features importing capabilities, which fully automate all aspects of fuel and mileage tax tracking, calculation and reporting.
Inter-Tax and ALK are jointly developing a tolls module. Inter-Tax will supply ALK with collected toll data to assist ALK's development effort. Upon release, Inter-Tax will receive the full product and will integrate the toll calculation module into its applications.
ALK's Tolls module is part of ALK/FleetSuite, a set of tools that uses the company's industry standard PC*MILER product solutions.
Under the ALK- Inter-Tax agreement, Inter-Tax will provide regulatory advice and audit support for all PC*MILER/FuelTax customers, as well as ITI Full Service and ITI Advantage clients.
