The Association of Diesel Specialists appointed Tony Salas as director of training.
Salas brings 20 years of automotive and diesel instructor experience with him as well as more than seven years of working with ADS and its members on a contract basis. Salas has also provided contract training for General Motors Fleet and Commercial as well as AC Delco. His training experience includes the entire range of Ford Power Stroke, GM Duramax, Dodge/Cummins, as well as other topics such as Electrical/Electronics, DT466, automatic transmissions and body control features.
His education includes an associate degree in automotive and diesel technology as well as a teaching credential from Cal State Long Beach. He also holds various certifications, including ASE Master Technician.
Salas operated Performance Automotive Techniques as a training provider for diesel and gasoline systems as well as being an exclusive trainer to the ADS sponsored technical training schools.
"It has taken a long time for us to find the right person, however now that we have Salas on board full time I feel it is going to be a tremendous ADS Member benefit," says Paul Thoms, ADS education committee chair.
