Adeena LLC has recently released a driver software package for PocketPC handheld devices.
Geared towards household goods movers, the new Vantrax system enables drivers to wirelessly print or email inventories in much less time than it takes to complete a traditional handwritten inventory.
The benefits of the Vantrax program are evident throughout the moving cycle. At the origin residence, the driver is able to generate an inventory that can be printed either in code or in English. At destination residence, items can be checked off as they come off the truck and any transit damage can be recorded as an exception.
"Simple and flexible were the two main ingredients in the Vantrax program," said lead developer David Tsao.
Vantrax generates a detailed container summary, allows for flexible printing options and incorporates specialized car and piano inventories. The fact that the program closely mirrors the paper process should also help to minimize the learning curve for new users.
In addition to the benefits of being able to print a clear and concise inventory, the PocketPC is a flexible tool for the professional driver. Options such as an integrated GPS system and a digital camera can be added to help fight claims and eliminate the need for maps.
