Oklahoma-based software developer Add On Systems has introduced software to make it easier to track and bill for detention time.

Tractor Detention and Billing allows for monitoring, notification, billing and collection of power unit detention. Tractor Detention is a real time system that takes advantage of Mobile Communications systems to provide timely information. Tractor Detention and Billing is a great way to take advantage of existing technology to solve delays in delivery and pickups, according to the company.
The Add On Systems’ Tractor Detention and Billing system uses vehicle arrivals and departures to automatically monitor the time drivers are delayed at customer sites. Once it is determined that a unit has reached the end of any allowable free time, the customer can be notified by phone, fax, or e-mail. Event Rules are flexible and can be default or customer specific. Once a unit has departed, data is sent to the billing section for any further negotiation and faxing or e-mailing of a confirmation acknowledgment to the customer. Billing data is sent to the trucking company’s host invoicing system for printing of invoices. Finally the data is accumulated in history files for reporting and analysis by management and sales. An optional module is available for monitoring driver pay against detention billing and passing to settlements any pay due the driver.
