10-4 Systems, a firm that provides end-to-end shipment visibility of the supply chain for Fortune 500 companies, has licensed freight-tracking technology from MacroPoint.
Combining 10-4’s supply visibility technology with MacroPoint’s freight tracking software will expand visibility for shippers and carriers using the company’s services. In addition, 10-4 is able to provide automated alerts for shipments running early, on-time, in jeopardy or late. The information is continuously recalculated to give customers more accurate ETAs and it can be shared internally.
“We are partnering with MacroPoint because of the vast number of freight carriers already connected to its network,” said Travis Rhyan, president and CEO of 10-4. “Our shipper customers now receive instant visibility to all of their carriers and can visualize the data inside of our dashboard and analytics platform.”
10-4 Systems, headquartered in Boulder, Colo., offers supply chain software designed to streamline communication and eliminate non-automated processes and labor-intensive procedures by providing a single view to manage shipments in real time across the supply chain.
Through integration with in-cab telematics devices, trailer and container tracking systems driver cell phones and transportation management systems, MacroPoint provides visibility to 3PLs, brokers, shippers, and carriers. The company’s proprietary predictive analytics software allows third parties to view all loads hauled by a variety of carriers and concentrate only on the loads with a potential to miss delivery windows.
“We have received a lot of licensing interest since our latest patent issued,” said Bennett Adelson, MacroPoint’s CEO. “Most companies respect intellectual property rights, and many partners and competitors have been reaching out to us with ideas of how to work together and leverage our invention in new and interesting ways. We welcome 10-4 as a licensee and partner in doing that.”
