The parent company of the carrier Covenant Transport and others, Covenant Transportation Group, has announced third quarter net income of $2 million compared with $1 million the same time a year ago. Company officials cited a higher unseated truck percentage and new hours of service regulations as factors.

Werner Profit Falls 15% During the Third Quarter

Nebraska-based truckload fleet Werner Enterprises reported a drop in its third quarter profit amid just a slight increase in business, noting that hours of service rules changes that took effect in July negatively impacted miles per truck by 2% to 3%.

Virginia Awards $168 Million in Road/Transportation Projects
