Specialty Carrier Interstate Transport Contracts to Return Plant Racks
Interstate Transport Inc., St. Petersburg, Fla., announced it will be the transportation logistics provider for EZ Shipper Racks Inc

Interstate Transport Inc., St. Petersburg, Fla., announced it will be the transportation logistics provider for EZ Shipper Racks Inc.
Interstate will ensure the return of racking systems throughout the United States from the nation’s largest big box retailers, to nursery locations throughout the country. Interstate specializes in the transportation of live goods, such as plants, trees and foliage.
“Our agreement with EZ Shipper Racks brings efficiencies to everyone involved in the transportation of live goods, from the wholesale growers across the country to retail outlets throughout the United States,” said Tim Higham, president and CEO of Interstate Transport. “By coordinating the collection and return of hundreds of thousands of racks, we ensure lower operational costs for both growers and retailers, as well as help thousands of our drivers return to pick up their next load.”
Interstate transports live goods throughout the U.S. on EZ Shipper racking systems, for some of the world’s largest retailers. Interstate Transport will now collect empty racks for return to the growers for re-use. The patented EZ Shipper Racks breakdown in minutes at the retailer and can be used again. This efficiency reduces the cost to growers and retail outlets by not having to purchase their own racks. Using EZ Shipper Racks allows growers and retailers to “rent” as many racks as needed to accommodate surges in business, especially in the busy spring months.
