The first PrePass sites in Virginia are now online on U.S. 13/460 east- and westbound near Suffolk.

These locations are among the highest volume truck inspection facilities in the state, according to the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles.
PrePass enables qualified motor carriers to comply electronically with state weight, safety and credential requirements at normal highway speeds. Participating carriers pay a nominal fee for each successful bypass.
According to Ab Quillian, DMV Commissioner, "PrePass is a benefit to Virginia's motor carriers. By partnering with PrePass, we've expanded our existing e-screening program while enhancing Virginia's capacity to improve commercial vehicle enforcement, save motor carriers time and improve highway safety."
PrePass is scheduled to be deployed at 14 additional locations across the state, including:

• Alberta NB & SB on I-85

• Bland NB & SB on I-77

• Carson NB & SB on I-95

• Stephens City NB & SB on I-81

• Dumfries NB & SB on I-95

• Sandston EB & WB on I-64

• Troutville NB & SB on I-81

Launched in California in 1995, PrePass is operational at 193 locations with an additional 66 sites committed. 24 states have deployed -- or committed to deploy - PrePass: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, Nebraska, Nevada, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
