UPS Teamsters Rally for National Contract
Teamsters President James P. Hoffa told a crowd of more than 700 union members in St. Louis Sunday that the Teamsters will win the strongest contract ever at UPS this year

Teamsters President James P. Hoffa told a crowd of more than 700 union members in St. Louis Sunday that the Teamsters will win the strongest contract ever at UPS this year.
"We will win because the hardworking men and women at UPS deserve to be rewarded for making UPS the most profitable package delivery company in the world," Hoffa told members at the rally hosted by Local 688 in St. Louis, Mo. UPS Teamsters from across the central United States attended the rally.
"The company is successful because of you-hardworking Teamsters," Hoffa said. "You deserve to share the company's success."
The national UPS contract, the largest single-employer collective-bargaining agreement in the United States, is set to expire July 31. More than 180,000 Teamsters are covered by the contract. The Teamsters and UPS exchanged contract proposals January 30 in Washington, D.C. and negotiations began on Monday, Feb. 11.
The union has launched a web site, http://www.trakups.org, to keep members in touch with the campaign. There is also a toll free number (866-TRAK-UPS) that members may call for weekly updates.
