Volvo & GMC Trucks of Birmingham (Ala.) has changed its name to Premier Truck Centers, following its acquisition of Muscle Shoals Mack Sales in Tuscumbia and Madison, Ala.

President T.J. Willings noted the new name more accurately describes his business today. "We are a full-service, commercial truck dealership offering quality mechanical repair, replacement parts and collision repair support for the medium and heavy duty truck market," he said. "Now with our three locations, we will be able to offer more convenient support to our Volvo Truck customers in North Alabama, and we're excited about being able to sell and support Mack trucks at those facilities."
The dealership has been in business since 1915, when it was a White dealership located in downtown Birmingham. In 1999, the dealership moved into a new facility off Interstate 65 north of Birmingham, with a 46,000-square-foot building on a 14-acre site. That same year, Willings was named U.S. dealer of the year by Volvo Trucks North America.
