Time magazine has named XM Satellite Radio one of the "2001 Inventions of the Year"
in its annual inventions issue, dated Nov. 19.
The magazine features a photo of Sony's XM "Plug-and-Play" Satellite Radio Receiver, the only satellite radio receiver designed to work in both the car and the home.
Earlier this week, XM received a 2001 "Best of What's New" Grand Award in the electronics category from Popular Science, the world's largest science and technology magazine.
XM this week expanded its launch of the first U.S. digital satellite radio service nationwide.
