Midwest Kenworth of Kansas City, MO has won its fourth Kenworth Dealer of the Year honors and was also awarded with Kenworth's inaugural Medium Duty Dealer of the Year award.
The announcement came at the annual Kenworth Dealer Meeting held recently in
Scottsdale, AZ.
Each award recognizes the top-performing Kenworth dealership that has excelled -- well beyond industry expectations -- in many areas, including customer service and sales. Midwest is a division of the MidAmerican Holding Company (MHC) and this is the ninth time in the award's 15-year history that a dealership from the 26-location MHC group has won the national award.
A Kenworth dealership since 1978, Midwest Kenworth expanded in 1994 by opening a branch location in Olathe, KN, then in 1997, opened another branch in Columbia, MO. In 1999, the dealership's three locations significantly increased both its new and used truck sales, market share and revenue growth.
"Last year was a great year, and we're looking for another solid year in 2000," said Mike Murphy, Midwest Kenworth's executive vice president. "Trucks are becoming more technologically advanced and we're staying ahead of the curve with our service facilities and parts departments that are high-tech in nature."
"We're also signing more contract maintenance programs -- even developing captive shops for our customers," Murphy said.
Also announced at the meeting were Kenworth's Regional Dealers of the Year for 1999. Winners were: Canada: Inland Kenworth; Burnaby, BC; Northeast: Michigan Kenworth, Grand Rapids; Southeast: Truck Enterprises Roanoke, Roanoke, Va.; and West: Kenworth Northwest, SeaTac, WA.
