Phillips Industries made two new product enhancements to increase the performance of its Weather Tite M2 liftgate electrical assemblies designed for corrosion prevention. The company also introduced new M2 Charge Kits, combining the Weather Tite M2 with easy-to-install cable support.

Weather Tite M2

Phillips’ Weather Tite M2 has dual pole J3082 plugs that are nearly "unbreakable," non-corrosive, and molded to the electrical cable, company officials said in a press release. The Weather Tite seal at the front of the plug blocks moisture and contaminants from traveling past the connected union inside the socket, preventing corrosion from developing in the liftgate electrical system. The result is a durable solution that is impervious to water, contaminants, and corrosion.

Enhancements to the Weather Tite seal and added protection at the back of the plug provide added operational benefits. The previously blue Weather Tite seal is now red to visibly identify liftgate battery charging applications. Additionally, assemblies now feature cable guard sleeves to enhance strain relief protection at the back of the plugs for longer cable life.

M2 Charge Kit

The M2 Charge Kit is a back-of-cab charging system that includes an enhanced 15-foot coiled Weather Tite M2 cable with 48-inch lead and a 25-inch Qwik-Change tracker spring kit with Qwik-Clamp for charging cables.

The Qwik-Clamp for charging cables comes pre-installed on the Weather Tite M2 assembly to eliminate measuring or misplacement during installation, and set-up takes about two minutes. One part number provides access to a complete turnkey system that saves time, takes the guesswork out of installation, and provides the necessary defense against corrosion to keep liftgates cycling for on-time deliveries.
