Yokohama Tire introduced three new commercial tires, including one designed with last-mile delivery in mind.

The 720R is a 19.5-inch, N-speed-rated drive tire engineered specifically for pickup trucks and last-mile delivery operations. The tire is offered in a 225/70R/19.5 size and is now available in the U.S.

“The 720R is designed for fast-paced businesses,” said Tom Clauer, Yokohama’s senior manager of commercial product planning. “Its deep-tread design is built to last and provides year-round traction for outstanding maneuverability in urban environments.”

The 720R has an all-new casing design and is N-speed-rated, allowing for speeds up to 87 mph.

Wide lateral grooves run diagonally across the center rib for improved wet and snow traction. Plus, deep open shoulder lug grooves provide high traction and fight irregular wear, while the serpentine grooves evacuate water to provide confident wet traction throughout the life of the original tire. The 18/32-inch-deep original tread depth provides aggressive traction and longer wear without sacrificing fuel efficiency.

The 720R’s sidewall protection reduces damage caused by curbing and scrubbing in typical urban operations, and the funnel-shaped grooves prevent stones and debris from reaching the bottom of the groove where casing damage can occur.

Regional All-Position Tire

The 124R radial tire is designed to keep regional pick-up and delivery fleets moving all year long and comes in nine sizes from 17.5 to 22.5. inches. It carries a six-year unlimited retread casing warranty on all 17.5-inch and 19.5-inch sizes and a seven-year warranty on all 22.5-inch sizes.

Deep sipes provide outstanding wet and snow braking. Four wavy circumferential grooves promote even wear and offer optimal traction in the wet and snow.

An extra-wide tread promotes better dispersal of contact pressure with the road to deliver longer tread life. Rigid shoulder ribs step-down wear and enhance driving stability. Rock shield platforms reduce stone and debris penetration for improved casing life, durability and retreadability.

On-/Off-Highway Tire

Yokohama’s new 505C is engineered for on-/off-highway trucks and is offered in three sizes (385/65R/22.5, 425/65R/22.5 and 445/65R/22.5). It replaces the MY507A.

A new tread pattern increases traction, while a special anti-chip tread compound strengthens on/off-highway durability. Wide blocks and ribs provide traction in mud and snow. Wide circumferential grooves evacuate water from beneath the tread for better braking, and wavy lateral grooves are engineered to deliver additional wet traction.

Funnel-shaped step grooves prevent stones and other debris from reaching the bottom of the groove where casing damage can occur. Additionally, high-strength belt construction enhances durability in off-highway applications.

The 505C carries a six-year three retread casing warranty.

Both the 124R and the 505C long-lasting all-position tires meet the industry’s required performance criteria for severe snow service and carry the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol on the sidewall.
