Rotary Lift’s MOD35 heavy-duty inground lift series is designed to be protected from rust with several different methods to fight corrosion. The MOD35 comes in two and three multi-stage hydraulic cylinders and provide lifting capacity of 70,000 to 105,000 lbs.

“Durability is crucial with a product like the MOD35, where useful life can be measured in decades,” said Doug Spiller, heavy-duty product manager at Rotary. “The lift has to stand up to daily use in a harsh shop environment.”

To protect against rust, Rotary used different processes in the production of the MOD35 including:

• Nitriding: Nitriding is a heat treatment process which uses nitrogen in steel to create a hardened surface that is more difficult to scratch that applied coatings. The heavy-duty shutter-plate trench cover on the MOD35 is nitrided instead of painted or galvanized.

• Electrocoating: MOD35 frames are electrocoated by being submerged in an acid bath for cleaning and painted through an electrically bonded process to better coat every part of the surface.

• Zinc and Aluminum: All fasteners used below grade in the MOD35 are treated with Magni 565 which is a duplex coating system that combines a zinc-rich basecoat with an aluminum-rich topcoat to prevent rust and seized bolts.

The MOD35 is contained in a six foot deep steel enclosure that has been sealed inside and out with Rotary Lift’s EnviroGuard coating. Rotary guarantees the enclosure against corrosion and electrolysis for 10 years.

The MOD35 is operated by pendant-only controls that can be used at ground level and attached to an optional cord reel. The MOD35’s compact electrical console can be wall-mounted up to 200 feet away from the lift.
