Remy International announced the Delco Remy 38SI, a 215-ampere, brushless alternator for school buses, line-haul tractors with anti-idling equipment, emergency vehicles, refuse trucks, utility vehicles, shuttle buses and recreational vehicles.

A high-efficiency stator requires low engine power to turn the alternator, saving fuel, while a remote sense feature can reduce battery charge time by 50%. Remy says the product has OE quality and performance for aftermarket replacements.

Remy also says the 38SI has the highest efficiency rating in its class. High efficiency translates to less engine horsepower requirements, resulting in fuel savings, according to the company.
