When it comes to DOT compliance, the more things change, the more things require updating. That’s especially true when it comes to drivers’ hours-of-service training.

On July 1, the federal hours-of-service rules for drivers of property-carrying CMVs were revised. Drivers now face mandatory 30-minute rest breaks and more restrictions on use of the 34-hour "restart" provision.

This means hours-of-service training developed before July 1 may now be out of date — putting carriers at risk of being out of compliance. However, carriers can reduce that risk with the new hours-of-service driver training program from the regulatory specialists at J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc.
