The Idaho Transportation Department has released a specialized trucker’s version of its traveler services 511 mobile app that reformats the information in the standard app for commercial vehicles.

The Idaho Transportation Department has released a specialized trucker’s version of its traveler services 511 mobile app. The trucker version reformats much of the information in the standard app for commercial vehicle restrictions.
It trucker version of the app will function like the current trucker’s pages on the department’s website and 5-1-1 phone system. In the future, the Idaho Transportation Department would like to add new sections in the app for weigh stations and truck escape ramps.
The standard 511 app provides up-to-the-minute information about the condition of Idaho highways. The latest version of the app has a hands-free mode providing drivers with updates and events on the road ahead. The app can alert drivers to accidents, roadwork, or other incidents within a five mile radius around them upon startup. Once on the highway, the information focuses on the road directly ahead of the driver.
The app also includes information from Idaho’s Road Weather stations and can display hazardous travel alerts.
The Trucker's version of the 511 app is available now for Android and Apple devices.
