The Swiftwick Health+ sock improves blood flow to the leg by providing compression from the ankle to the lower leg.
The Health+ is a medical class II graduated compression sock designed to reduce risks associated from being seated for hours at a time. It prevents blood from pooling in the legs which addresses health problems like deep vein thrombosis, edema and leg discomfort that is common in people who are immobile for extended periods of time.
“The class II medical distinction refers to the sock providing a medium of compression around the entire lower leg,” said Mark Cucuzella, executive director of the Natural Running Center. “The Swiftwick Health+ medical sock is an improvement over the standard medical sock with a level of compression that can reduced fatigue, swelling and discomfort.”
The Health+ compression socks have 132 needle-count graduated compression and come with a cushioned foot bed that increases comfort. It is also antimicrobial and has the ability to wick away moisture. This protects the sock from destructive odor-causing bacteria, mold, mildew and fungus.
