Retail Sales Post Big Gain for February

U.S. retail sales rose in February by the greatest level since September. The U.S. Commerce Department on Wednesday reported a 1.1% increase from the month before with the January figure being upwardly revised to a 0.2% gain. February activity was 4.6% higher than the same time a year ago.

Diesel Forecast Moves Lower

A new government report is predicting diesel prices will be lower than a previous forecast, due to an expected decline in the price of oil along with other factors. The U.S. Energy Department’s Short-Term Energy Outlook says after averaging $3.97 per gallon last year, on-highway diesel prices are expected to average $3.90 per gallon this year.
