service that works with GPS-enabled phones on the Nextel network.
GPS TimeTrack provides GPS positioning plus time and speed monitoring in a hosted service. Fleets don’t have to install or maintain software. Xora maintains the software on its own servers and provides driver information on a secure web site. Of course, GPS-enabled Nextel phones are required.
The system reports on each phone at set increments of time, say every 15 minutes, keeping a detailed record. Using GPS TimeTrack, dispatchers can view driver positions on maps, including “bread crumb” trails of positions over time. Positions can be a close to “real time” as the latest reporting time.
Dispatchers can also select spreadsheet-style reports that highlight parameters of their choice -- locations at specific times, instances of speeding and much more. All data is quickly accessible to verify driver performance on demand -- by inquiring customers, for example. The new GPS TimeTrack integrates with bar-code scanners that attach to mobile phones.
GPS TimeTrack users also have full Nextel functionality, including digital phone service nationwide and Nextel’s Direct Connect two-way radio-style service. According to Nextel, traditional Direct Connect service that has been available within regional markets will extend nationwide beginning with a rollout this summer.
According to Xora, the latest release of GPS TimeTrack offers features such as automated dispatch, wireless text alerts and more. GPS TimeTrack costs $11.99 per user per month. One-time setup fees also apply.
