International Truck and Engine Corp. announced Wednesday that USA Truck Inc. has placed an order for nearly 1,000 International 9400i heavy-duty tractors featuring Cummins ISX engines compliant with EPA-2002 emissions requirements.

USA Truck, headquartered in Van Buren, Ark., will take delivery of 963 new International trucks beginning in April 2003 through its local dealer, Carco International Trucks of Fort Smith, Ark.
USA Truck, one of the nation's largest commercial carriers, operates more than 1,900 tractors and 4,000 dry-van trailers throughout the continental United States, Canada and Mexico. Their recent order marks a big change for the company, which had previously done the bulk of their business with another OEM.
"Our expanded partnership with USA Truck will enjoy the full support of two of our strongest assets -- the industry-leading network of International dealers, and our close collaborative relationship with Cummins as an engine supplier," said Steve Keate, president, truck group, International Truck and Engine Corp. International has a nationwide network of nearly 1,000 dealer locations delivering one-stop shopping for customers' order, delivery, service, financing, parts, engine and support needs.
