The fifth annual Richard Crane Memorial Truck Show, famous for its Parade of Lights over the Mackinac bridge, will be held this weekend, Sept. 15-17, in St. Ignace, Mich.

The truck show is sanctioned by the National Association of Show Trucks. NAST spokesman Bob Guy is predicting a turnout of about 130 trucks for the show.
Dave Nemo will be broadcasting live from the show Thursday and Friday night.
After the truck show judging Saturday, as night falls the trucks will parade over the Mackinac bridge with all their lights on for the annual Parade of Lights. After the parade, the trucks will be parked again for the light show judging.
During the awards ceremony Sunday, Guy will ask for donations for this year's charity: funeral expenses for Carl Lahrke of Mondon, Mich., a trucker who was killed by a hit-and-run driver last month while riding his motorcycle. Lahrke was at the NAST truck show in June in Coldwater, Mich., and took home a second place trophy. He was so proud of that trophy, Guy says, he was buried with it. The truck he showed in Coldwater, owned by Preferred Truck Service in Grand Rapids, Mich., will be on display at the show.
Previous years have seen funds raised for a local animal shelter and $12,500 to buy a handicapped accessible van for a local senior citizen's hospital.
