Truck driving is a “hot job,” according to the May 6 issue of Time magazine.
In an article titled “The Coming Job Boom,” Time looks at the changing job market as the country comes out of a recession and baby boomers start retiring in large numbers.
In a list of “The Hot Jobs” – those with the largest predicted grown between 2000 and 2010 – truck drivers tie with registered nurses for third place, with 561,000 more jobs predicted. They rank behind only teachers and computer software engineers on the list.
Auto mechanics are another hot job, eighth on the list, and no doubt truck technicians can expect similar demand. Among the “Cold Jobs,” Time includes parts salespeople.
