Aether Systems Inc., a leading provider of wireless and mobile data solutions, has announced that nationwide truckload carrier TRL Inc., plans to convert its entire fleet of 600 trucks to Aether MobileMax for wireless fleet tracking and messaging.

Based in Pittston, Pa., TRL specializes in dry and temperature-controlled transportation services and has long been a proponent of wireless solutions for its fleet.
The company has been using integrated mobile communications in its fleet for nearly 10 years and recently decided to move to a next generation solution. After evaluating and testing several alternatives in the market, TRL decided to join the growing number of trucking leaders adopting Aether's multi-mode solution, MobileMax.
"TRL believes very strongly in the value of mobile communications to improve fleet productivity and customer satisfaction," said President and CEO Stephen Hrobuchak. "After a comprehensive review, we found that MobileMax gave us a great value for our money and does the most to improve visibility, communication, and the overall effectiveness of our fleet."
Aether MobileMax uses a multi-mode system that automatically switches between land-based and satellite communications without driver or dispatcher intervention to ensure complete coverage and more cost-efficient communications.
The MobileMax system transmits dispatch and data messages and GPS position reports, and provides data on state-line crossings, vehicle fault codes and driver performance
"TRL is a very well-respected national carrier and we are pleased to have earned their business," said Ken Mitchell, Vice President of Sales for Aether Transportation.
