The Maintenance Council has announced the theme for its Fall Meeting, “Embracing Technology's Advantage,” to be held Oct. 16-19 at the Hyatt Regency in Columbus, Ohio. The meeting will include special all-day, hands-on demonstration of electronic controlled braking systems at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Vehicle Research Test Facility.

The all-day ECBS demonstration will be devoted to the theory, design and practical application of ECBS in all types of Class 7-8 commercial equipment. All truck and brake component manufacturers will be represented, and attendees will have the opportunity to experience ECBS-equipped vehicles first-hand on NHTSA's test track.
Technical sessions during the three and a-half day meeting include: Fleet Application of Collision Warning and Vehicle Event Recording Devices; Introduction to Electronic Controlled Braking Systems; and a special session of TMC's popular Shop Talk featuring a Failure Analysis "Roadshow." The Shop Talk session will feature discussion of failure and the cause of the failure of parts submitted by TMC fleet members.
In addition to the technical and mini-technical sessions, more than 70 Task Force meetings will be held during the meeting to develop Recommended Practices that fleets can adopt in their daily operations.
Meeting registration on or before Sept. 25 is $250 for TMC or ATA members, $125 for the spouses program and $350 for nonmembers. Registration after Sept. 25 is $350 for TMC or ATA members, $125 for the spouses program and $450 for nonmembers. Registration for only the Oct. 19 ECBS Demonstration is $150 for TMC or ATA members and $250 for nonmembers.
