TravelCenters of America (TA) and Petro Stopping Centers have reached agreement with TMI to deploy TripPak Scanning stations at their full-service facilities.
These two major chains are joined by scores of independent truckstops, partnering with TripPak for drop box placement at each facility and a fully integrated, cashier assisted document-scanning service.
"TA fleet customers and drivers expressed an interest in truckstop scanning, however, most prefer a system that offers the flexibility to satisfy driver preferences and still account for their original documents," said Mike Hinderliter, senior vice president for TravelCenters of America. "We appreciate a complete solution, knowing how much drivers dislike self-service scanning kiosks and fighting for a parking space at smaller truckstops. Our full-service approach matches up nicely with TripPak's complete program."
"We feel confident in partnering with TripPak, a proven leader with a fleet process improvement track record. They have been delivering production imaging services longer than anyone, with the largest base of scanning clients and the largest base of member carriers," said Jim Cardwell, chief operating officer of Petro Stopping Centers. "This is a newer technology that's friendly for the truckstop environment."
"It's about coverage, long-standing partnerships and a total understanding and respect for unique needs and fleet processes. We appreciate how important an original document is and value the driver's time," said Mark A. Cleveland, executive vice president of TMI. "We're adding truckstop scanning to the TripPak menu of fleet terminal scanning and outsourced scanning solutions. These programs, together with universal drop box coverage, will deliver tailored solutions for any fleet, large or small."
The companies confirmed that service will start in June with rapid deployment throughout the TA and Petro networks. Participating fleets can direct drivers to TravelCenters of America and Petro Stopping Centers where fuel desk employees will process images and return a receipt.
"TripPak serves over 700 fleets, enjoys a strong relationship with hundreds of truck stops already committed to an exclusive agreement with TripPak, and this means we can expand coverage and offer more options to meet the needs of our customers," says Cleveland. "TripPak Scanning gives a driver the speed and convenience of truck stop scanning, and behind the scenes, images all funnel through our scan center for auditing, dispatch data validation and advanced indexing."
Images captured at a truckstop can be merged with images processed in the TripPak Scanning center and exported to participating carriers with original documents maintained by TripPak. More than 700 fleets rely on TripPak Express, including Swift, Schneider, U.S. Xpress, Continental Express, C.R. England, Marten Transportation and Boyd Brothers.
