Sun Sets on Aether, Rises on GeoLogic Solutions
Trucking technology provider Aether has become GeoLogic Solutions Inc

According to the press release that announced the name change, GeoLogic will continue to provide and aggressively market the MobileMax mobilecom solution and the TrailerMax trailer tracking system that had been under the Aether banner. Nearly 50,000 of the company’s systems are in use by more than 400 customers throughout U.S and Canada, according to the release.
High-profile GeoLogic customer fleets include U.S. Xpress, Contract Freighters Inc., National Carriers and JDC Logistics.
The announcement included a new GeoLogic Solutions web site at www.gogeologic.com. However, the defunct Aether web address was still operating late Tuesday.
“The new name and brand identity signal that GeoLogic Solutions is now ready to stand on its own,” said Ross Young, senior vice president for operations at Platinum Equity. Young is serving as interim president at GeoLogic Solutions. “The company has a strong foundation, with innovative products and a strong customer base. It is poised for growth in 2005.”
The official name-change announcement came on Tuesday, but had been revealed in earlier published reports that also said the company is searching for a new president.
