Pilot Flying J announced that in 2016 the company expanded the number of Pilot and Flying J stores by 58 locations, particularly in the Southeastern U.S.
Through PFJ Southeast, a joint venture with Speedway, Pilot Flying J converted 41 former Speedway/Wilco locations throughout the Southeast into Pilot Flying J locations. Pilot Flying J also opened 17 all-new travel centers in 2016.
With the 58 new additions, the Pilot Flying J network now includes more than 750 locations across North America, adding 4,200 new parking spaces and 320 showers.
"Working with Speedway, as part of PFJ Southeast, has allowed us to quickly and easily grow our presence in the heavily traveled Southeastern corridors," said Ken Parent, Pilot Flying J president. "We're excited for the convenience these additional locations will bring to our guests and trucking company customers."
Pilot Flying J also released myPilot, the company’s mobile app allowing drivers to pay for fuel through the app, check pump availability, reserve a shower, view store listings, get directions, and receive electronic receipts.
"2016 has been an exciting year of growth," said Parent. "We've made investments in new locations throughout the country, and we've developed agreements with partners like Speedway. We look forward to continued growth in the new year as well.”
