Oshkosh Truck Corp. said it has received a contract with a value not to exceed $144.6 million covering up to 796 armor kits for trucks.

The contract was awarded by the U.S. Marine Corps Systems Command and the Marine Corps has options to add another 124 kits as well as engage the company to install the kits, bringing the potential contract value to approximately $204 million.
The kits include not only armor to protect vehicles but also suspension upgrades and air conditioning kits for Oshkosh Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacements (MTVRs) currently being used in Iraq.
"We're very pleased to have been awarded this contract. This type of upgraded armor protection helps keep Marines safe while using our trucks, and we're proud to support that," said Robert G. Bohn, Oshkosh's chairman, president and chief executive officer.
The company expects a majority of the kits under the contract to be delivered in its fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 2005, with a significant portion of the kits to be delivered during the first quarter of the fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 2006.
