Today's business environment requires large and small enterprises alike to find innovative ways to stay competitive and on the cutting edge of technology and information.
Leaders of the $42 billion a year travel plaza and truckstop industry will share their insights and experiences facing those challenges at the 2003 National Assn. Of Truck Stop Operators (NATSO) Show, scheduled Feb. 6 and 7 in Orlando, Fla.
The "Passport to Profits" focus will shed light on the ways new industry trends and technological breakthroughs can help travel plaza operators make their businesses more lucrative in the increasingly competitive marketplace.
Former Kansas Gov. William Graves, who just this month took the helm of the American Trucking Assns., will give his first keynote address as leader of the organization. NATSO members will be the first to hear how he plans to transform the association that represents their customers.
From the operator perspective is 2003 NATSO Chairman Nelson Baker of Wells River, Vt., who will provide fellow members with a look at his goals for 2003, and will discuss his plans for addressing weighty industry challenges.
NATSO's new president & CEO, William D. Fay, will kick off The NATSO Show on Feb. 6 with his vision for the future of the association, and how he plans to boost the industry?s influence and effectiveness in Washington, D.C.
"America's travel plaza and truckstop operators play a vital role in our nation's economy and productivity," Fay said. "In addition, in today's sluggish economic climate, I know that profitability is a big concern facing our members, and I hope this forum will allow operators to share their best practices to help them remain competitive."
NATSO University will feature its popular Business Forums, which provide innovative insights into new technologies, alternative partnership opportunities and customer service and retention techniques. From truckstop electrification, fuel supply outlook and third-party logistics companies, to the inside trade secrets of 20-year Disney Customer Service Trainer Dennis Snow, NATSO University provides the industry with training and information they can receive nowhere else.
"The NATSO Show gives us the chance to network with industry leaders and suppliers alike," said Roger Cole, president of Highway Service Ventures. "The opportunity to productively and efficiently conduct business with hundreds of our industry counterparts at one time is an important return on our NATSO investment."
Hosted at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., the show will serve as an informational forum for leaders and members of the industry. The show also will serve as the primary networking opportunity for many of the hundreds of truckstop operators who will travel to Orlando from around the nation.
