Lawson Software has signed a multi-suite software and services contract with AAA Cooper Transportation.
The regional trucking firm licensed Lawson's human resources, financials, procurement and reporting suites. The contract also includes implementation services from Lawson Professional Services.
AAA Cooper will use the Lawson applications to automate administrative processes and enhance reporting capabilities. The applications will run on IBM's iSeries platform. Specifically, Lawson will help ACT automate core functions of its human resources department, for example, maintaining employee payroll taxes and tax calculations.
Employee and manager self-service capabilities will be rolled out to all active full-time employees, allowing employees to view and maintain their own personnel information through a secure Web-based interface. Managers will be able to approve time records, open job requisitions and complete personnel actions more quickly via the online portal.
When fully implemented, AAA Cooper will have an integrated system that delivers more accurate and consistent company-wide information. Improved reporting capabilities will allow AAA Cooper decision makers to then easily gather, analyze, share and act upon business data from a company-wide and departmental level.
Based in Dothan, Ala., AAA Cooper is a non-union LTL trucking firm providing services to 12 southeastern states, Puerto Rico, as well as the industrial areas of Chicago, Cincinnati, Louisville, Ky. and Minneapolis.
