Truckstop.net, the Texas-based provider of wireless Internet connectivity for the transportation industry, is about to provide iPass customers with high-speed wi-fi Internet access at more than 500 truckstops
and travel plazas hotspots operated by Truckstop.net throughout North America.
The agreement will extend the wireless Internet footprint iPass provides to mobile enterprise employees at venues along important interstate and highway locations.
Truckstop.net's wi-fi network will be deployed in about 3,000 locations throughout the United States and Canada over the next few years. With their iPass accounts, more customers will be able to gain access to the Internet and email at popular locations like Rip Griffin Travel Centers, Petro Stopping Centers, Love's Travel Stops, Pilot Travel Centers as well as a host of independently owned and operated locations. iPass members are able to take advantage of one of the largest 802.11g networks available currently, increasing their bandwidth and ability to create robust VPN (Virtual Private Network) connections at Truckstop.net locations.
