The world's largest commercial truck show, the bi-annual IAA event in Hannover, Germany, is coming up in late September and will reflect economic conditions in some of the world's most important truck markets.

A special Pre-IAA press workshop was recently held in Germany to inform on what will be happening at the 65th IAA Commercial Vehicles show.

"Economic developments on important commercial vehicle markets provide a boost for the 65th IAA Commercial Vehicles," said Matthias Wissmann, president of the powerful German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), which is organizing the IAA-Show. "Western Europe has seen 3% growth in its commercial market this year, while the U.S. market has recorded double-digit growth and China increased by 4%.

”In Germany, too, this year’s trend has been very positive. By the end of May 2014, over 34,000 heavy commercial vehicles (over 6 ton) were newly registered, which is a 12% year-on-year rise,” Wissmann said.

During the workshop, high-ranked executives from the European commercial vehicle industry delivered presentations on trends in the trucking business as well as products of the future.

The exhibition ranges from vans to medium-sized trucks all the way to heavy-duty trucks. It also covers buses and coaches, manufacturers of trailers and bodies, as well as many innovative suppliers and service providers.

The IAA is also a major congress event, with around 30 specialist conferences and seminars, including the China Day, the India Day, a CO2 event and gatherings on load securing and the transportation of hazardous goods. Visitors also can look forward to a large number of interesting test drives.

IAA runs in Hannover Sept. 25 – Oct. 2, 2014. Truckinginfo and Heavy Duty Trucking will be on location to cover the show.
