TMW Systems Inc., Beachwood, Ohio, announced that Tom Ridge, former Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security and former Governor of Pennsylvania, will be a keynote speaker at its 19th Annual Client Conference and Vendor Showcase Nov. 6-9, 2005
, at the InterContinental Hotel & Conference Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
TMW is a provider of enterprise software for commercial and private truck fleets.
Ridge will address “Homeland Security: More than Just a Cabinet Agency” at the conference luncheon on Monday, Nov. 7. His presentation will include a question and answer session.
“As the first Secretary of Homeland Security in the aftermath of 9/11, Tom Ridge had a direct impact on many of the security regulations that affect the trucking industry today, including increased shipment scrutiny at our borders and more in-depth background checks for drivers,” said Tom Weisz, president and CEO of TMW Systems. “This will be a rare opportunity to hear his insider’s view of the country’s transportation security efforts, the role of trucking professionals in identifying and reporting security concerns and his thoughts on balancing national security concerns with commerce.”
