Hot-button safety and compliance issues such as electronic logs and the technology at work behind tomorrow's autonomous vehicle will be discussed at next month's Fleet Safety Conference.
Taking place in Schaumburg, Ill., July 18-20, the conference is designed for fleet, risk, safety, sales, human resources and EHS professionals and provides insights and practical education on improving fleet safety.
At the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel, the Fleet Safety Conference will feature separate sessions specifically aimed at the challenges of medium- and heavy-duty fleets. With new technologies and regulations on the horizon, the informational sessions are aimed at helping fleets navigate changing world of fleet safety.
One session will examine the upcoming electronic logs mandate and coercion rule. Various electronic logging device vendors will also be on hand to provide information.
With autonomous trucks in the headlines, a session on the safety behind these technologies will examine the behind the scenes work currently going on in the world of driverless trucks and how they can improve safety today as well as tomorrow.
For medium- and heavy-duty fleets, there will also be sessions on reducing accidents through addressing driver habits, implementing safety monitoring technologies, and a talk with fleets that are already implementing electronic logging devices.
The conference also has general sessions for all fleet types, including talks on developing fleet safety strategies that go beyond compliance, surviving fleet-safety related lawsuits and others.
Heavy Duty Trucking’s 2016 Safety & Compliance Award will also be presented at the conference, recognizing industry people who have demonstrated excellence in fleet safety. This year’s award is sponsored by Omnitracs.
Registration is still open and attendees can save $100 on a full conference pass by signing up by June 17. To register or find out more about the conference, click here.
