Eaton Corp., Kalamazoo, Mich., says its Heavy Duty Transmission Division will be realigned in moves designed to accelerate growth and respond more quickly to customer needs.

The division will be organized into two distinct business units -- one for Performance and Vocational Transmission Products, the other for Automated and Fleet Transmission Products.
"Each business unit will be responsible for its own products throughout their life cycle, from inception, to design, manufacture, installation and field use," said George Nguyen, vice president and general manager for Heavy-Duty Transmission Division. "This provides a clearer view of our transmission product line's value streams, and will enhance our growth opportunities and speed our response to urgent customer needs."
New general managers were named to the new business units, both reporting to George Nguyen:
-- Dave Bennett has been named general manager of the newly formed Performance and Vocational Transmission Products business unit, responsible for Fuller 13, 15, 18- speeds and "LL" deep reduction transmissions.
Bennett is transferring from Eaton's Aerospace Components Division in Grand Rapids, where he has been the business unit manager for the past 18 months. Prior to joining Eaton, he served as global engineering director and Electromechanical Power Systems director for Honeywell, responsible for a range of product development, technical support and production activities in international business settings.
-- Curt Hutchins has been named general manager for the newly created Automated and Fleet Transmission Products business unit, responsible for Fuller 7, 9 and 10-speed "RT", "FR", and Lightning transmissions, as well as AutoShift and UltraShift automated transmissions. Hutchins comes to Eaton from WaterPik Technologies where he spent the last three years, most recently as vice president of Operations. He previously served as executive team leader and plant manager at Parker Hannifin's Abex NWL Aerospace Division in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
