DENSO Corp., parent company of Long Beach-based DENSO Sales California has announced that DENSO Manufacturing Hungary Ltd., DENSO’s subsidiary in Szekesfehervar, Hungary, will expand its diesel common rail system production
capability by building a new 9,600-square-meter facility on the existing premises.
The total investment will be approximately 38.3 million euro. Due to the expansion, capital will be increased by 24.3 million euro by the end of 2006. DENSO expects approximately 200 new jobs by the end of 2007.
“With the increasing demand in Europe for common rail systems, we decided to enhance our production capability in Hungary,” said Hiromi Tokuda, senior managing director in charge of DENSO's Powertrain Control Systems and Electronic Systems Business Groups. “We plan to increase annual production volume of common rail systems to 1 million units by fiscal year 2008, from the 650,000 units projected for fiscal year 2006.”
Construction of the new facility is scheduled to begin in April 2007 and be completed by July 2007. Production is scheduled to start in January 2008.
