Dana Corp.'s Commercial Vehicle Systems Division was recently named a finalist for the 2003 PTC Awards in the automotive category.

PTC, of Needham, Mass., develops, markets and supports software solutions that assist manufacturers in developing new products.
PTC, with 35,000 customers worldwide, annually stages a competition among manufacturing companies that use its design tools.
The Dana Commercial Vehicle Systems Division was named a finalist for a new Dana Spicer independent front suspension design, which was taken from concept to working prototype for a Class 8 vehicle in nine months while utilizing PTC software. The software also was used to analyze full articulation of the installed suspension and virtual fine-tuning of the suspension kinematics.
The independent front suspension was eventually installed in a Peterbilt 387 model truck, and is currently being used for customer demonstrations.
"Dana's status as a PTC Awards finalist represents a tremendous accomplishment and reflects our ongoing commitment to technological leadership," said Kent Davison, director of product engineering for the Commercial Vehicle Systems Division.
