Joseph Clapp, administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, will be a keynote speaker at the National Private Truck Council's 2002 Annual Education/Management Conference and Exhibition.

Michael Janke, veteran Navy SEAL and CIA operative, also will be featured at NPTC's 13th annual event, scheduled for April 28-30 in Austin, Texas.
President George W. Bush appointed Clapp the first Administrator of the FMCSA last fall. FMCSA is one of nine administrations within the U.S. Department of Transportation and the first major new agency created by Congress in more than 30 years.
Clapp began his career in transportation in 1959 with Ryder Tank Lines. He joined Roadway Express in 1967 and became chief executive officer and chairman in 1987. He retired from Roadway Services in 1995.
Michael Janke, founder of Special Operations Consulting, is a highly decorated Navy SEAL and former CIA operative. His dramatic presentations not only give the individual tools and information for improving performances, but also have helped some of the world's largest companies dominate their industries. Janke inspires his audiences to develop the "Predators' Mindset" for business, customer service, sales and leadership.
NPTC 2002 also offers more than 25 educational workshops, including two sessions on transportation security, a special gathering for "Women in Transportation," a state-of-the-art exhibition, the Bridgestone/Firestone Driver Hall of Fame and other events.
For registration information, visit NPTC's website at www.nptc.org.
