LAS VEGAS -- Bob Phillips, chairman and CEO of Phillips Industries, was inducted into the Heavy Duty Aftermarket Hall of Fame during Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week.
The award, which is presented by IHS Automotive/Polk, is given to honor a person who has made a significant contribution to the heavy-duty aftermarket.
Phillips, a 50-year veteran of the industry, says the company is committed to the heavy-duty industry.
He began his career at H.W. Phillips Co, as one of two employees. Starting as a small automotive jobber, Phillips helped grow the business from a North American parts distributor to a global, full-service aftermarket and OEM supplier.
Phillips says the company is driven by its tag line: “We make products that make a difference.”
In accepting the award, Phillips said, “I can’t thank you enough. I am honored and flattered. A lot of great guys have gone before me and I am happy to be part of that group. I can’t tell you how happy I am to be doing what I love.”
Candidates for the award are assessed based on their length of service, impact on the industry, industry participation and thought leadership.
