Speaking to the media, Michelle Ross, director, Goodyear TaaS, said that for fleets, the new agreement incudes Goodyear tires as well as Halo tire monitoring technology.

“For our fleet customers, that means that Goodyear will be monitoring your tires continuously for air pressure, temperature, mileage and tread depth,” Ross explained. “And when there's an issue, we will resolve that alert for you by dispatching service on your behalf. So, we're really closing the loop between you have an alert, we're going to take action on your behalf for you, so that you're able to recognize the benefits of having the technology on the tires on your vehicles.”

TaaS is designed to help fleets save time and improve total cost of ownership through outsourced tire management, Ross added.

She said the solution has been well-received by commercial and last-mile delivery fleet customers, who have noted its ability to deliver efficiency and reduce downtime.

With 95% of their tires properly inflated, Ross said several of Goodyear's long-haul customers are seeing real results, with an average of 3% fuel savings and over 50% breakdown reduction, keeping their fleets rolling efficiently and reliably.

Under the new agreement, Goodyear's TaaS solution will be available in North America and Europe. The service will now leverage automation by Halo Connect i3.

According to Ralph Dimenna, CCO at Aperia Technologies, this “cutting-edge” automatic tire inflator includes integrated tire pressure sensing, remote setpoint adjustments, and customized inflation settings for every fleet.

Dimena said Halo Connect i3 is trusted and utilized by leading fleets nationwide, running on thousands of trucks and trailers.
