Meritor WABCO Vehicle Control Systems has entered into an agreement with Heil Trailer International to supply its Roll Stability Support (RSS) as standard equipment on select Heil and J & L brand products.
The dedicated trailer stability support system is available immediately on the following Heil models: Petroleum, Super Jet and Super Flo (domestic and export). The system can also be specified on J & L Low Cube and High Cube (domestic) tank models.
The system operates by monitoring trailer wheel speed, lateral acceleration and air suspension pressure and strategically applies the trailer brakes if the rollover threshold is reached to reduce speed and lower lateral acceleration. RSS is a software solution, incorporating trailer ABS and works independently of the tractor stability system.
