Schneider National Inc. announced that its Schneider Driver Training Academies in Green Bay, Wis., and Dallas have been certified by the Professional Truck Driving Institute (PTDI).

PTDI certification is a voluntary process that grants public recognition for driver training that meets or exceeds established qualifications as determined through initial and periodic evaluation. Only 54 schools in the United States and Canada have been certified by PTDI.
The certification process provides professional judgment of course quality, encourages continuing course improvement and aims to increase industry use of tractor-trailer driver training courses. The goal of PTDI certification is to verify and improve driver training and assure safety advocates, governmental agencies, and the public that drivers are receiving the highest levels of training available.
"PTDI certification validates our rigorous curriculum and safety standards," said Don Osterberg, vice president of safety and training for Schneider National. "We chose to have our program assessed to attract the best candidates in the industry and to help further improve safety in the industry."
Two additional Schneider National Driver Training Academies, one in Carlisle, Pa., and the other in Charlotte, N.C., have previously gone through certification.
