The Technology and Maintenance Council on Tuesday issued a press release saying the recent successful exhibition featured more than more than 275 exhibitors.


TMC recorded more than 2,600 attendees for the meeting in the Tampa, Fla. More than 95 TMC Task Forces met during the week to create Recommended Practices for equipment maintenance, information technology and logistics segments of the transportation industry.
According to the TMC, Dave Rehurek, transportation manager for Alcoa Extrusions Inc., Yankton, S.D., was installed as general chairman. Rehurek succeeds Mike Jeffress, vice president of maintenance for Maverick Transportation, Little Rock, Ark.
Rehurek said during his tenure as chairman he wants to bolster private fleet participation by working with state trucking associations and maintenance councils, and promote TMC as a clearinghouse for truck maintenance information.
2005-06 TMC officers include:
General Chairman & Treasurer: Dave Rehurek, Alcoa Extrusions Inc.
Vice Chairman of Meetings: Marc Clark, FedEx Express
Chairman of Study Groups: Braxton Vick, Southeastern Freight Lines
Membership and Publicity Chairman: Al Anderson, Consolidated Metco Inc.
Associates Advisory Group Chairman: Tom Cuthbertson, GeoLogic Solutions
Immediate Past Chairman: Mike Jeffress, Maverick Transportation
Executive Director: Carl Kirk, American Trucking Assns.
Directors-at-large of the 2005-06 Board include:
Regina DeBaker, Watkins Motor Lines Inc.; Lew Flowers, United Sates Postal Service; Roy Gambrell, Truck It Inc.; Herman Miller, Shopko Stores; Darry Stuart, DWS Fleet Management; Jack Sukala, J. Jeb Manufacturing; and Oren Summer, FleetNet America LLC.
The TMC said five trucking industry suppliers were named Recognized Associates of the TMC for outstanding contributions to the improvement of equipment, its maintenance and maintenance management.
The 2005 recipients of TMC's Recognized Associate award are: Vince Lindley, manager of national fleet accounts for Volvo Trucks North America Inc.; Mike McGowan, director of sales for Truck-Lite Co. Inc.; Al Ross, OEM liaison manager for The Lubrizol Corp.; Greg Shipman, senior account manager for Delphi Electronics and Safety; and Mac Whittemore, manager of the OnTrac Technical Support Call Center for ArvinMeritor.
In addition, TMC conferred its Excellence in Maintenance Supervision Award to front-line supervisors. The winners this year were Bill Robins, Arrow Trucking Company; Bill Bonde, Brinks; and Shanon Peacock, Oakley Transport Inc.
The award recognizes front-line supervisors who have displayed excellence and professionalism in maintenance supervision, both technically and administratively. Candidates for this award are employed in direct supervision of maintenance technicians and exhibited superior performance in equipment maintenance supervision. Higher levels of management are not eligible for the award.
